Free-Time Play at BabyEarth: BabyEarth Round Rock Store, a baby products retailer and specialty store, will host its Free-Time Play on Friday, Feb. 23 from 10 AM – 11 AM. Held every Friday at BabyEarth, this FREE event sets up a play area with toys and blocks for your little one(s) to enjoy. Written by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins and Directed by Marcus McQuirter, this funny, trenchant, and powerful play follows an ambitious group of editorial assistants at a notorious Manhattan magazine, each of whom hopes for a starry life of letters and a book deal before they turn thirty. PeaceBox Half-Day and Full-Day Silent Retreat on Lake Travis: PeaceBox, a designated “pop-up” mobile venue offering on-site education, training, and guided practice in mindfulness and meditation as well as therapeutic techniques for stress-reduction and overall wellness, will host a half-day and full-day Silent Retreat on Saturday, Feb. 24 beginning at 8:30 AM. Event will be held on a secluded 2-acre lake front private property on Lake Travis, 30 minutes from downtown Austin. Saturday morning begins with a short tour of the property followed by a group silent meditation. During the approximately 3.5 hours of silence (half day) or 7 hours (full day), participants are invited to spend time in nature, enjoy a silent walking meditation, listen to nature from many our outside decks, enjoy warmth of outdoor and indoor fires, or kayak across the secluded Cove. Stress-relief coloring and yoga mats provided for self-directed yoga.We end the 1/2-day retreat with a silent mindful lunch followed by communication in circle.We end the full day with communication in circle. Presenters will be at the event to discuss various topics relating to native plants and plant habitats of Texas and more.
